Sophia Kapcia is an English specialist and experienced English teacher with twenty years of teaching experience at the Secondary and Primary levels. Sophia is also the Media Lead at her church, and she strives every day to put God first place in her life. She is also a mum to five girls. Sophia is a passionate, dedicated, visionary leader who can lead and inspire a team. She has an excellent working knowledge of the English Curriculum and a wider understanding of how changes in education will impact learners. As an experienced Subject Leader of English, she has gained valuable experience in terms of leading and managing on a subject and whole school basis, having had responsibility for whole school Literacy. A regular aspect of her role is advising teachers on strategies for improving the performance and standards within English and she is extremely proud of the professional, trusting, and strong relationships and successes she has forged at all levels in the schools where she has taught. She carries a non-negotiable belief that the pupils must always be the priority. She is currently completing her PhD degree at Lancaster University in the Faculty of Education and Social Justice researching intersectionality and inclusion and through this research is committed to ensuring that all students from all backgrounds receive a high-quality academic experience.
